Adult Coloring Books: Color Your Meditation

Updated: Feb 8

When I was a child I remember my parents gave me coloring books after surgery to keep me still, giving my small body time to heal. Coloring even then was one of my favorite things to do, that is when I would sit still long enough to do it. I never imagined that I would one day create coloring books of my own. Though I have chosen to call them Activation Guides as a sign to let adults know that these were meant for both adults and children, not just for the grandkids. Now coloring books for adults are the latest trend. These coloring books help spark their creativity and remind them of simpler times in their childhood. As Johannah Basford writes: “Some time spent with the simple task of adding color to the page and creating something beautiful really seems to appeal to people. There’s also the nostalgia factor. Chances are last time you spent an hour or so coloring in you didn’t have a mortgage and you weren’t worried about a nagging boss or the financial crisis! Coloring in seems to help people think about a time when life was simpler and more carefree." I have chosen intricate symmetrical patterns to create adult coloring books as more of a meditation tool and/or spiritual healing modality. I utilize the sacred art of mandalas in combination with the ancient Solfeggio frequencies (only now being rediscovered by musicians). These frequencies were detected by Dr. Joseph . He was Divinely inspired to examine the Bible where he uncovered in the book of Numbers a pattern of six repeating codes around a series of sacred numbers, 3, 6 and 9. When deciphered using the ancient Pythagorean method of reducing the verse numbers to their single digit integers, the codes revealed a series of six electromagnetic sound frequencies which correspond to the six missing tones of the ancient Solfeggio scale. With continued research of Pythagorean math 9 sets of 9 frequencies have been discovered. Mandalas meaning, “flow of live energy”, can be used to find our way back to our creative consciousness and connect to the divine. As a symbol of self-expression, it is a visual symbol of how we are each a part of the whole. Solfeggio Frequencies are the original sound frequencies were thought to have been lost after they were used in Ancient Gregorian Chants during the 1600s, such as the great hymn to St. John the Baptist, along with others that church authorities lost centuries ago.
